  • Working on reducing and optimizing the overall scale-up time for just-in-time scaling. As part of the same, Implemented a Kubernetes controller to use the ASG with a warm pool and Karpenter to reduce the node startup time by 4x.
  • Maintaining the infra for the org spanning more than 20 Amazon Web Services (AWS) accounts, 12 Google Cloud Platform (GCP) projects, and about 18 EKS k8s clusters.

  • Ported Kubernetes workloads and infrastructure to AWS Graviton, achieving a ~20% reduction in compute costs.
  • Deployed Kyverno for policy-as-code, enforcing topology spread constraints, optimizing node pool allocation, and restricting workloads to private registry images—improving cluster efficiency and security.
  • Retired legacy Kubernetes clusters and consolidated workloads onto a modern EKS platform, enhancing capacity utilization and reducing operational overhead by eliminating outdated configurations.
  • Shifted user login to different SSO and transitioned internal users to different mail, keeping the same authorization in place.
  • Served as game marshal and on-call lead during live events, ensuring smooth operations and rapid issue mitigation.
  • Identified gaps in the internal system and reduced the number of internal support tickets by 20%. Some of the work includes providing the time-bound elevated access to the engineers and reducing intervention in the Route 53 DNS management automation.

SDE-2 (Engineering Productivity)

  • Simplified service onboarding, reducing pipeline configuration from over 200 lines of code to fewer than 20 variable configurations.
  • Set up the entire CD platform from scratch, having connections to multiple tools like K8s, Jira, AWS, GCP, Vault, Container Registry, Prometheus, Coralogix, etc.
  • Drove standardization in the deployment process for over 400 backend services, facilitating their migration to a new CD platform, Harness NG, within 5 weeks. To make this happen, I collaborated with the vendor and helped develop more than 40 new features in the platform and used Python scripts to do the controlled migration.
  • Facilitated guardrails like Jira ticket approval, freezes, test execution of multiple types, and metrics verification to reduce the amount of defective code reaching production.
  • Improved developer experience with a unified deployment method for all services in the organization, reducing cognitive load and increasing deployment frequency.
  • Added telemetry to the pipeline to gather data on its behavior for further improvements. Improved the MTTR metrics based on it and reduced the direct prod deployments by enforcing standard practices and reduced prod failures.
  • Unlocked controlled traffic routing during canary releases to mitigate risks and achieve test execution on canary at 0% in production. Modified centralized jsonnet and golang automation to support the required changes on ambassador mappings and diff k8s components to implement the same.
  • Collaborated with SaaS vendors to evaluate and enhance the CD product to meet current and future requirements.
  • Designed and orchestrated CI/CD tool infrastructure to support builds and deployments at scale. The CI system is handling more than 3000 jobs per day, and CD is doing more than 500 deployments per day.

  • Evaluated and implemented multiple tools to improve the development flow with reduced risks and increased productivity. Introduced trunk-based development within the org and activated the service onboarding to the new CI/CD stack containing GitHub Action and Harness CG.
  • Contributed to various org-wide Terraform module improvements. Modernized Terraform code with the state to a version greater than 1. Designed SOP and created a pipeline to migrate the Terraform version with ease.
